CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (MPG) - Tuesday, August 2nd is National Night Out for 2022. This summer’s event, which is held nationwide on the first Tuesday of the month of August, is celebrated to promote solidarity between neighborhoods and local police for which community members are invited for some good, family-friendly fun.
The Citrus Heights Police Department will be holding its annually held picnic at C-Bar-C Park Picnic Area on 8275 Oak Ave "' near the Fair Oaks Blvd intersection. Join the community from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for FREE hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks, dessert potluck, games and plenty of activities for the kids.
According to National Night Out’s website, “The mission of National Night Out is to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.”
In California, alone, there are 327 cities, including Citrus Heights, celebrating with 38 million neighbors in 16,000 communities across the nation who are joining law enforcement groups.
According to the national website, you can also hold your own National Night Out in your neighborhood by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and much more.
Supporting police, sheriffs’ departments and other law enforcement agencies not only helps weave the torn social fabric in our communities but can also provide an important perspective for those seeking new careers or friendships.
CHASEN Neighborhood Areas 7-8-9 and Sunrise Ranch Area 6 sponsor this year’s National Night Out in Citrus Heights.
